The Certificate IV in Music Industry (Business) offers you the qualifications to work in the music industry as a manager; record company owner; music event manager or self manage your own musical career.
To manage a band or music company successfully you need to know about all aspects of the music business. Understanding music is not enough! This nationally accredited program will give you the skills to be savvy in the music business world.
Students will learn the theory and practice behind the running of a successful business in the music industry and then gain hands on practical experience assisting with the management of the student business Urchin Entertainment, as well as competing for the opportunity to do work experience and internships with key Brisbane music companies.
The course acts as an incubator for students to gain practical experience in working in a music environment. Students will experience team work, project management, negotiation skills, copyright and contract information, understanding of music sales and promotion and much more. Students will also have digital learning tools such as a class forum board to assist their learning and networking.

Entry Requirements:
- Applicants must fill in a questionnaire to be eligible for the course. Applications will be assessed and successful students will be allocated a place in the course. - Students who have previously studied Music at VET or University level must prove successful completion of their course before being eligible for Cert IV Music Industry (Business).
- Students under 17 years of age must meet enrolment requirements as specified in the Education (General Provisions Act) 2006.
